Handbrake Lives Again

Handbrake, that old faithful, open-source DVD ripper and video converter, has joined forces with the team that gave us MediaFork, the open-source community-contributed fork of HandBrake. The new name? .... Handbrake!

What's new? Loads and Windows users even have a GUI version instead of the old command-line one. Here's a brief list of the new stuff…

• User presets (Mac).
• AppleTV and PS3 support.
• Anamorphic, even in QuickTime.
• Surround sound (both AAC 5.1 and Dolby Pro Logic II).
• Chapter markers (QuickTime-style).
• Official support for the Windows GUI.
• PPC Linux support.
• High profile H.264 support.
